Man Arrested Who Would Not Mask in 'Hamilton': Police

Arizona State University police arrested a man on suspicion of assaulting auditorium employees.

TEMPE, AZ — A man who refused to wear a face mask at a Saturday afternoon performance of "Hamilton" was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Arizona State University Gammage auditorium employees, police said.

Connor Loretz, 32, was arrested on suspicion of assault, trespass and disorderly conduct, according to university police.

Jail booking and bond information for Loretz were not immediately available.

At the 2 p.m. showing Saturday of the hit Broadway musical "Hamilton," Loretz refused to wear a face mask and was asked to leave, police said. He is accused of assaulting two auditorium staff members and struggling with university police before being escorted from the building, police said.

No one was injured, police said.

The audience cheered as Loretz left the building as the struggle took place during the show, police said.
