Man Fatally Shot Over Video Game System: Tempe PD

The Tempe Police Department said an arrest has been made after a man was shot over the sale of a video game system.

TEMPE, AZ — A man has been arrested after fatally shooting someone he sold a video game system to, police said.

The Tempe Police Department said in a statement that officers responded to reports of a shooting at 7:10 p.m. on Monday. They found a man with an apparent gunshot wound, later identified as Daniel Moreno.

Moreno was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. The department's investigation revealed that Gabriel Hernandez had gone to Moreno's apartment that evening to collect "a small amount of money he perceived he was owed for the sale of a video game system."

According to the statement, Hernandez approached the apartment and Moreno refused to let him in, so Hernandez began shooting.

Hernandez was arrested at a home in Mesa on Tuesday. He has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and misconduct involving weapons.
