Mesa Track Coach Accused Of Child Sex Trafficking: Police

The part-time Mesa High School track coach was arrested Tuesday after a conversation with a person that police said he believed was 14.

TEMPE, AZ — A part-time Mesa High School track coach was arrested Tuesday, on suspicion of child sex trafficking, according to Tempe police.

Angel Jesus Torres, 27, was booked into Tempe City Jail Tuesday on suspicion of child sex trafficking, furnishing harmful items to a minor and aggravated luring of a minor.

Police claim that during a conversation with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, Torres asked for sex in exchange for money.

Police said there is no evidence that any students at Mesa High School had inappropriate contact with Torres, but asked the public to report any instances that they knew of.
