MLB Draft: Arizona State University Shortstop Drew Swift Picked
Arizona State University shortstop Drew Swift became the 1st Sun Devil picked in the 2021 MLB Draft Monday.

TEMPE, AZ — Arizona State University junior shortstop Drew Swift became the first Sun Devil to hear his name called in the 2021 MLB Draft on Monday afternoon.
The redshirt senior, who finished his four-year playing career in Tempe with seven home runs, 89 RBIs and 167 hits, was drafted by the Oakland Athletics with the 248th pick of the 2021 draft.
Swift joins University of Arizona players Ryan Holgate, Branden Boissiere and Donta Williams as four-year college players from the Grand Canyon State to be selected in the 20-round draft.

Swift's draft bonus slot value as the 248th pick is $165,400, according to MLB.com.
