The discount movie theater will open its doors Friday for the first time in a year-and-a-half. Tickets are still only $3.50.

TEMPE, AZ — Pollack Cinemas, Tempe's discount movie theater, will reopen Friday after being closed for a year-and-a-half, according to its website.

“You will notice the changes from the moment you pull into the parking lot. It has been one of the most anticipated re-opening’s from 2020 and I can assure you it will have been worth the wait," said company President Michael Pollack on the theater's website. "We realize the hardship that the country has faced during the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore we will remain committed to our motto, to never sacrifice quality for price. So, although there are a lot of new extremely expensive and exciting changes at Pollack Cinemas the admission price to get in to see your favorite movie is still Only $3.50."

The theater, at 1825 East Elliot Road, is set to open at 11:30 a.m. Friday and will show movies only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The theater was closed for more than a year because of the pandemic, out of an "abundance of caution," according to its website.
