RV Barricade Situation At Tempe Marketplace Started In Mesa: Police

The incident began with a suspected assault of a park ranger at Riverview Park in Mesa, according to police.

TEMPE, AZ — A person was barricaded inside a RV in the Tempe Marketplace parking lot Tuesday afternoon, as Tempe and Mesa police attempted to convince the person inside to come out, according to police. The situation ended around 2:20 p.m., when one woman was taken into police custody, according to a Mesa police spokesperson. He did not provide additional details.

The incident began with the suspected assault of a park ranger at Riverview Park in Mesa, police said.

The RV, which police suspect was involved in the assault, left the park and eventually parked at Tempe Marketplace, according to police.

When police tried to speak to the person inside the RV, the person would not come outside, police said.
