Skateboarder Dies, Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Collision

TEMPE, AZ — A skateboarder was killed and a motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision Wednesday evening, according to Tempe police.

The skateboarder was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist remained a patient at a local hospital as of Thursday morning, police said.

The collision happened Wednesday night near the intersection of Priest Drive and Broadway Road, when the motorcyclist hit the skateboarder mid-block, according to Tempe police.

The force of the collision separated the motorcycle and its rider, causing the rider to collide with a vehicle, police said.

Police did not release the identities of either of the people involved in the collision.
