Tempe 150th Anniversary: History Museum Exhibit Opens Soon
Tempe is celebrating it sesquicentennial this year.
TEMPE, AZ — In honor of Tempe's 150th anniversary, the Tempe History Museum is set to unveil a new exhibit this week.
"Tempe 150 – Milestones" will open at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the city.
The exhibit includes photos, artifacts and documents and looks at some of the city's important milestones and the people who contributed to them, according to the city.

The exhibit follows Tempe from its start as a small frontier to a suburban college city.
"The Tempe 150 exhibit highlights the influence of pioneers from Mexico, Canada, Denmark, Lithuania, Lebanon, China and Japan, as well as the Native Americans who called this region home," the city said in the news release. "Explore the new and familiar stories to reveal the history of the city in a brand new light."

The exhibit is free to all Valley residents and runs through Feb. 26. The museum is open 10 a.m.-5p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
