TEMPE, AZ —The Chicago-based deep-dish pizza franchise Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is opening up a new location in Tempe, a popular food blog reported last week.

According to Mouth By Southwest.com, the restaurant will be at Tempe Marketplace, taking over the former Ruby Tuesday, 27 S McClintock Dr. #15, between The Keg and Barrio Queen.

ABC 15 said it confirmed with a Malnati's spokesperson that the restaurant does plan to open in Tempe, though the restaurant declined to provide any further information. An opening date is not yet known, the station reported.

The new restaurant would be the third Lou Malnati's in the Valley — with current locations at Uptown Plaza in Phoenix, 100 E Camelback Rd. Ste 152 , and in north Scottsdale, 17787 N Scottsdale Rd. There currently are seven Malnati's restaurants in Arizona, a list that includes takeout and delivery locations, according to ABC 15.

Mouth By Southwest reported that Malnati's opened a location in Mesa this past August, and one in Gilbert in December. There also are plans for a Malnati's to open in Chandler in May.
