TEMPE, AZ — For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, patrons can use the splash pads at three Tempe parks and the water park at Kiwanis Park, the city announced Friday.
City-owned splash pads at Jaycee, Hudson and Esquer parks and The Cloud at Kiwanis Park will reopen, with the facilities enforcing requirements for face coverings and social distancing, the city said.
The decision to reopen came after a steady decline in COVID-19 cases in the city, Tempe said.

Park visitors are advised to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer before, during and after their visit to the facilities. Additionally, people should avoid using water fountains at the parks and bring their own water into the facilities instead, the city said.
