Several Tempe residents will compete in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, which kick off on Friday. Here's who made the cut.

TEMPE, AZ — A total of 22 Arizona State University alums are on the ground in Tokyo, preparing for the start of the Olympics.

The games, which kick off with Friday's opening ceremony, run through Aug. 8 in Japan's capital city.

The athletes will compete in a variety of events, ranging from water polo to discus, track & field, swimming and golf, among others.
