Vehicle Bursts Into Flames After Hit-And-Run On US 60 In Tempe

Two children and a driver were removed from the vehicle that caught fire and the driver was taken to a local hospital.

TEMPE, AZ — A hit-and-run on U.S. 60 Sunday ended with one vehicle bursting into flames, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The children and driver in the vehicle that stayed on scene had to be removed from the vehicle. The driver, who was unresponsive, was taken to a local hospital, a department spokesperson said.

The two vehicles collided on U.S. 60 west near McClintock Drive, the spokesperson said. The vehicle that stayed on scene hit the median wall and erupted in flames, while the other vehicle left the scene.

The department did not provide any additional information about the crash.
