Woman Charged On Suspicion Of Robbing 4 Phoenix Area Banks

The 27-year-old woman is accused of robberies in Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe over the past month.

PHOENIX, AZ — A woman has been charged on suspicion of robbing four banks in Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe over the past month.

Taylor Stewart, 27, is charged on suspicion of four counts of bank robbery in the United States District Court of Arizona, according to court documents.

Stewart is accused of robbing Desert Financial Credit Union in Mesa on Sept. 23; US Bank in Mesa on Oct. 4; Chase Bank in Scottsdale on Oct. 9 and Chase Bank in Tempe on Wednesday.

She was arrested by members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force with assistance from the Phoenix Police Department after the fourth robbery on Wednesday, according to court documents.

In each robbery, Stewart is accused of passing a note to a bank employee saying she was armed. After each robbery, she is accused of fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the robberies.
