1 Woman Killed, Another Injured In Tucson Shooting: Police

The woman killed in the early Wednesday morning shooting on Fort Lowell Road near Stone Avenue was only 18 years old.

TUCSON, AZ — One young woman was killed and another was injured in an early morning shooting in Tucson on Wednesday, according to Tucson police.

Emma Maria Destiny Dominguez, 18, was found unresponsive with gunshot trauma, but despite aid from police and Tucson Fire Department medics, she died at the scene, police said.

The second woman suffered only minor physical injuries.

Andres Machado, 20, was arrested and booked into Pima County Jail on suspicion of second degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held at the jail without bond, according to police.

Officers found the two victims near the intersection of East Prince Road and North Stone Avenue around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. Their vehicle was in the road east of the intersection and they were outside of it, nearby, according to police.

The shooting happened west of North Stone Avenue on West Fort Lowell Road, police said. The women drove to Prince Road after the shooting.

Police believe that Machado knew the women prior to the shooting, they said.
