TUCSON, AZ — Tucson police reported Tuesday that 75-year-old Clovis Isaacs died Mon., Dec. 9 from her injuries caused by an Oct. 1 vehicle collision at the intersection of W. Via Ingreso and S. Mission Road.

On Oct. 1 around 7 a.m., a maroon 2006 Ford Expedition headed south on Mission Road was attempting a left turn onto W. Via Ingreso as the light turned yellow. At the same time, a blue 1996 Ford Ranger pickup was headed north on Mission Road and was headed straight through the Via Ingreso intersection. The two vehicles struck each other in the intersection, which sent the Expedition coasting. The Expedition then ended up hitting a second vehicle — a 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan.

Tucson Fire medics provided aid to the Expedition's and Ford pickup’s occupants, who were taken to Banner University Medical Center because of serious to life-threatening injuries. Isaacs was a passenger in the Ford pickup.

The Honda driver didn’t sustain any injuries from the Expedition’s secondary crash.

Police determined at the accident’s scene that speed wasn’t a factor, nor was driver impairment. However, the Expedition driver was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.
