AZ Monsoon: Tucson Sets Record For Rainfall In July
The National Weather Service station at Tucson's airport has registered a monthly record 6.80 inches of rain in July.
TUCSON, AZ -- The 2021 monsoon is officially breaking records in Tucson.
The weather pattern has resulted in 6.98 inches of rain falling at the National Weather Service's location at Tucson International Airport, which is the most ever recorded in the month.
The previous record, of 6.80 inches, was set in 2018, the service said.

The airport station broke the record on Tuesday, after receiving 1.19 inches of rain from a series of storms that hit the area in the afternoon hours.
As of 432 pm, the airport has recorded 1.19" today. This pushes the July total to 6.98" which is the wettest July on record. The old record was 6.80" from 2017. Monsoon total stands at 7.15". Still raining. #azwx

The entirety of the Tucson city limits is currently under a flash flood warning, running through 7:30 p.m., in response to the storms that have hit the area on Tuesday.

Additionally, a flash flood warning is in effect for Pantano Wash on Tucson's east side, effective through 7:45 p.m., the service said.
