AZ Monsoon: Tucson Surpasses 2020 Rainfall Total In 28 Days
The 2021 monsoon has registered 1.64 inches of rain through 28 days, which is more than the city received in 2020, when it got 1.62 inches.

TUCSON, AZ — The Old Pueblo has already eclipsed its rainfall total from the three-month monsoon period last year with amounts received through the first four weeks of the 2021 season.
The city has received 1.64 inches of rain so far at Tucson International Airport, dating back to the official start of the monsoon on June 15, the National Weather Service said.
Last year's monsoon saw 1.62 inches of rainfall at the airport.

The 2021 rainfall total is roughly double the city's average through 28 days of the monsoon (.81 inches) and is the 17th wettest monsoon at such a juncture, the service said.
Tucson averages 5.69 inches of rain during the monsoon, which runs from June 15-Sept. 15.

Other spots in Southern Arizona have received even more moisture, with Nogales reporting 2.82 inches of rain, Sierra Vista has gotten 1.88 inches, Willcox has received 1.14 inches, and Ajo has received .73 inches — all of which are above average for this time of year.
Tucson should continue to get plenty of rainfall this week, with odds between 30 and 60 percent each day, between Tuesday and Monday, according to the service's seven-day forecast.
