Christmas Day 2021 Things To Do Open In Tucson
If you don't have plans for a holiday gathering, or you want to get out of the house with the family, here are some options.
TUCSON, AZ — If you're in Tucson and don't have plans for Christmas Day or you're tired of being holed up at home, there a several activity options in the Tucson area.
Hiking is always a good way to get your heart pumping, but that might not be a good option if Tucson gets as much rain and wind as the National Weather Service says is possible.
As always, it's a good idea to check with event hosts before heading out in case of last minute closures, cancellations or changes in hours.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
- When: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Christmas Day
- Where: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, 2021 North Kinney Road, Tucson
- What: The Desert Museum is a combination of zoo, botanical garden, art gallery with classes, natural history museum and aquarium, according to its website. Be aware that most of the museum is outdoors, so bring water and be mindful of the weather.
Winterhaven Festival of Lights
- When: 6-10 p.m. daily, Dec. 11 through Dec. 26
- Where: The Winterhaven neighborhood of Tucson, in the general area north of East Fort Lowell Road, south of East Prince Road, west of North Country Club Road and east of north Tucson Boulevard.
- What: A neighborhood light show that can be viewed on foot, from a hayride, a trolley or a pedal-powered group bike. Admission is free but attendees are asked to bring canned and dry food donations for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Attendees can also make monetary donations to the food bank. There are donation stations at each festival entrance.
Golf N' Stuff Family Fun Center
- When: 2-10 p.m., Christmas Day
- Where: Golf N' Stuff Family Fun Center, 6503 E. Tanque Verde Road, Tucson
- What: Mini golf, bumper boats, co-karts, laser tag and arcade games.
