City Of Tucson Holiday 2019 Trash And Recycling Changes

City of Tucson employees will enjoy Christmas Day and New Year's Day too. These changes will result to the trash and recycling schedule.

TUCSON, AZ — Similar to other Tucson residents who will enjoy Christmas Day and New Year’s Day with loved ones at holiday gatherings while indulging in festive holiday food and drink, City of Tucson employees will have Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 off from work too. So the regularly scheduled commercial and residential trash and recycling collection for Tucson residents will not occur on those two days. Instead:

  • Those with a regular Wednesday collection day will now have their trash and recycling picked up on Thursday both weeks.
  • Those with regular Thursday and Friday collection days will have services delayed by one day both weeks too.

All this means that City of Tucson offices will additionally be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, but residents can leave the City’s customer service division a message at 520-791-3171 or complete a service request online at www.tucsonaz.gov/esd. Customers doing so will be contacted by a City employee "no later than the next business day," City officials reported. Customer service is also available 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Saturdays following the holidays, Dec. 28 and Jan. 4.

The Los Reales Landfill is also closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
