Free Earth Day Festival Planned At The Children's Museum In Tucson

The Earth Day Festival this Saturday will include opportunities to learn about recycling, composting, wildlife and growing your own food.

TUCSON, AZ — The Children's Museum of Tucson and Oro Valley is the place to be this Saturday, for its free Earth Day Festival.

Attendees will have a chance to learn about recycling, composting, gardening and local wildlife, with exhibits and activities for all ages. Admission is free for everyone.

The event is set to take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, both inside the museum and in its courtyard.

Food trucks will be on the festival grounds during the festival with hot dogs from You Sly Dog, arepas and empanadas from Ricuras de Venezuela and coffee from EspresSoul Cafe. The cafe truck is set to be on site early, at 8:30 a.m.

Some of the activities will include making recycled seed paper and a cloud in a bottle. Attendees will also get the chance to pick produce from the museum's garden to take home with them, including strawberries, kale and eggplants.

Locals are encouraged to ride their bikes to the event, which will have free bike parking.
