Freezing Temps Headed For Tucson: Possible Rain, Mountain Snow

The workweek is set to start off with mild, seasonal temperatures with a drop to below freezing on Wednesday.

TUCSON, AZ — The workweek in Tucson started out mild and sunny, but temperatures are expected to drop below freezing Wednesday night, with a chance of rain in the city and possible snow in the nearby mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs on Monday and Tuesday were expected at a pleasant 70 and 69 degrees, respectively, with overnight lows in the lower 40s.

But the high on Wednesday is forecast at 59 with a 30 percent chance of rain and winds of 15-20 mph in the morning with possible gusts of up to 29 mph, the weather service predicted.

Snow showers will be possible in mountain areas above 4,000 feet.

The overnight low on Wednesday is expected at a chilly 27 degrees with cool weather continuing into Friday with an expected high of 60 degrees and an overnight low around 30.

Saturday is expected to be a little warmer, with a high of 65 and a low around 34, according to the weather service forecast.
