Gusty Winds To Come With Rain For Holiday Weekend In Tucson Area

Up to half an inch of rain and gusty winds are expected in Tucson on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

TUCSON, AZ — A soggy holiday weekend is likely in Tucson, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers and winds of 8-15 mph are expected to move into the Tucson area during the day on Christmas Eve, with a 50-80 percent chance of rain throughout the day and night.

There's a continuing 20-30 percent chance of rain on Christmas Day, with winds of 5-10 mph.

The high on Christmas Eve is expected to be 71 degrees, with an overnight low of 50. The weather service expects a Christmas Day high in Tucson of 68 degrees and a low of 48.

In the areas south and east of Tucson, closer to the international border, there's higher likelihood of sustained winds of 12-24 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph, according to the weather service forecast.
