Hard Freeze Warning In Tucson Wednesday Night: NWS

The rest of the week is looking to be chilly, with overnight lows dipping below freezing.

TUCSON, AZ — A hard freeze warning for Tucson is set to begin at 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The warning will expire at 9 a.m. Thursday.

There was a slight chance of rain during the day on Wednesday, with an expected high of 61 degrees and an overnight low around 27.

The weather service advises bringing inside or covering sensitive outdoor plants to protect them from frost and freezing and draining outdoor pipes, including sprinkler systems. Another option is wrapping pipes or setting them to a slow drip to avoid freezing, which could damage them.

The week is expected to continue in a chilly fashion with highs on Thursday and Friday of 56 and 59 degrees, respectively and overnight lows of 29 and 31 degrees.

The weather service predicts a slight warming on Saturday with a high of 66 degrees and a low around 35.
