Oil Fire Extinguished At Alejandro’s Tortilla Factory: Tucson FD

The fire at the tortilla factory produced heavy smoke, but the fire department got it under control quickly.

TUCSON, AZ — The Tucson Fire Department put out a cooking oil fire Tuesday morning at Alejandro’s Tortilla Factory on South 12th Avenue, according to the department.

No one was injured and the department had the fire under control within around 20 minutes.

When the department arrived on scene around 10:43 a.m., heavy smoke was coming from the back of the building. The department used suppressing foam to extinguish the fire and had it under control by around 11:07 a.m., the department said.

Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
