Pima County To Provide Hundreds Of Free Swim Lessons

Sign ups for June swim lessons began Tuesday morning. The free lessons will be offered at three Tucson pools.

TUCSON, AZ — If you're a Tucsonan who's worried about water safety but short on funds, local entities are working together this summer to offer 800 free swim lessons at three Tucson locations.

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation and the TMC Vest It UP! program are working with the TMC Foundation and the Children's Miracle Network to fund the free lessons, according to a news release. Each child who participates will also receive a free life jacket.

The free swim lessons are part of an effort to teach kids proper swimming techniques and to keep them safe around water.
