TUCSON, AZ — The Pixies, an alt-rock band that rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s, just announced a stop in Tucson during its current tour.
The band is set to play March 15 at the Rialto Theatre, according to its website. Tickets go on sale Friday.
The Pixies formed in 1986 and broke up in 1993, only to get back together in 2004 for a reunion tour. The Pixies plan to release a CD and vinyl box set called "Live in Brixton" Feb. 25, featuring performances from that reunion tour.
