Police Suspect Fatal Tucson 1-Vehicle Crash Was Caused By DUI
A speeding Tucson motorist is dead after losing control of his vehicle at the I-10 Frontage Rd. and Speedway Blvd. Sunday. DUI is suspected.
TUCSON, AZ — Tucson police reported that a single-vehicle collision at Speedway Blvd. and the I-10 Frontage Road intersection early Sunday morning left one man dead, and police suspect the crash’s causes were excessive speed and DUI.
Operations Division West officers were called to the intersection at the I-10 Frontage Road and Speedway about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, on a report of a single-vehicle, serious injury crash. Tucson Fire also responded to the call and took the driver, Jesus Francisco Limon, 46, to Banner University Medical Center immediately because he had sustained life-threatening injuries from the accident.
TPD Traffic Investigations Unit detectives arrived at the accident’s scene to examine roadway evidence and interview witnesses. Police then determined that Limon was speeding on the I-10 Frontage Road headed south. When he arrived at the intersection with Speedway, he lost vehicular control and crashed head-on into the intersection’s northwest traffic signal pole.
