Suspect Charged In Case of Remains Found Near Old Nogales Highway
Humberto Chapetti was charged with first degree murder and dead body concealment in the case of the remains found near Old Nogales Highway.

TUCSON, AZ – Police reported that 18-year-old Humberto Chapetti was charged on Thursday in the case of the mysterious death of Romulo M. Bacarse, whose remains were found in August at a ranch in the 12900 block of S. Old Nogales Highway in Tucson. The case broke open when photographic replicas of Bacarse’s leg tattoos were posted on social media, prompting an acquaintance to come forward to police to identify him.
After Tucson Police Gang Detectives concluded their investigation and found probable cause to charge Chapetti, they found him already in the Pima County Jail on unrelated charges. In the case of Bacarse’s death, Chapetti faces charges of first degree murder, abandonment or concealment of a dead body and prohibited possession.
Police are still looking for more suspects in the case, and they are asking anyone who can provide more information to call 88-CRIME. Tipsters can stay anonymous.
