Tucson Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair Sat/Sun: Another Black Friday?

The Tucson Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair Nov. 30-Dec. 1 just might give Black Friday a run for its money Thanksgiving weekend.

TUCSON, AZ – Black Friday isn’t the only game in town Thanksgiving weekend when it comes to getting a headstart on the holiday shopping season. The City of Tucson Parks and Rec’s free Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at Reid Park also offers plenty of goods for eager shoppers to peruse, especially those who prefer a homemade touch.

More than 160 vendors from various locales in the Southwest will sell their homecrafted goods and original artistry at the traditional Thanksgiving weekend craft fair held in Tucson for 30 years.

Crafters, photographers, artists, jewelers, painters, potters and others will display wares such as painted gourds, walking sticks, wind chimes, fused glass and mosaics, photography, paintings, and wood, clay and fiber works. Cozy items such as handmade lotions and soaps, knit scarves and quilts are also featured, as are gourmet treats, handcrafted pens, handpainted sunglasses, pet clothes and stuffed toys.

Local food vendors will be onsite for shoppers who get hungry, thirsty or just need to take a break to prevent the last part of the phrase “shop 'til you drop.”

The Parks and Rec Department encourages attendees to access the fair’s free parking from the Concert Place entrance via Country Club Road.
