Tucson Marching Band Set To Play In Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Catalina Foothills High School will represent Tucson in the 2019 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

TUCSON, AZ — If you’re a fan of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade who lives in the Tucson area, you’ve got added reason to tune into the festivities this year.

The Catalina Foothills High School Falcon band from Tucson will be one of 6 high school bands among the 11 bands performing in the world-famous Thanksgiving parade.

The Catalina Foothills High School Falcon band is made up of 265 individuals, and the turkey day performers will be playing “Troika” as they trot through the New York City streets.

With the largest number of participants compared to any Arizona marching band in the past two decades, this is the Catalina Foothills High School Falcon band's second time performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The first time was in 2006.

The band's travels go a lot further than New York City too. They've also visited Australia, China and Europe.

The annual parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Thursday in New York City, and you can watch the entire event on NBC. The Thanksgiving celebration will feature balloons, floats, clowns and performances from some of the biggest stars in music. Celine Dion, the Black Eyed Peas and Idina Menzel, among many others, will all add their known talents to the day of festivities.
