Tucson Opens Its First Outdoor Holiday Ice Rink
The "Tucson Holiday Ice on Fifth Avenue" is the city's first outdoor ice rink. The smooth holiday entertainment is offered through Jan. 5.

TUCSON, AZ — Tucson officials are aiming to help area residents and visitors glide into the holiday spirit with the city’s first outdoor ice rink. Holiday skaters will find the “Tucson Holiday Ice on Fifth Avenue” rink at 45 N. 5th Ave. through Jan. 5.
Families, couples and individuals can enjoy some holiday skating and pirouettes Monday through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturdays noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays noon to 7 p.m. Exceptions are Christmas Day, when the rink is closed, and New Year’s Eve, when the hours will be noon to 11 p.m. The hours might change, according to Lane Mandle, the city manager’s chief of staff, so stay tuned to social media and the City of Tucson’s website for updates.
Open skate admission is $10 for kids 12 and younger and $15 for adults. Admission prices cover skate rental too, but bringing your own skates doesn’t mean you’ll pay less to get in. Skate assist devices are available for rent at the rink for $5, and gloves are recommended and sold at the rink. Socks are required.
