Tucson Pedestrian’s Death Caused By Hit And Run Near St. Mary’s

A Tucson pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver near St. Mary's Hospital around 11 p.m. Tuesday. The pedestrian died at the scene.

TUCSON, AZ — Tuesday around 11 p.m., Tucson police and Tucson Fire Department medics responded to a call referencing a pedestrian lying on the road at the intersection of Centennial Drive and W. Anklam Road near St. Mary’s Hospital. At the intersection, as reported, they found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Fire department medics administered aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the accident’s location.

Tucson police detectives and officers questioned bystanders and learned that the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle headed west while the pedestrian was southwest of St. Mary’s Hospital.

The suspect didn’t stop after striking the pedestrian, and no one was able to give the police any information on the suspect’s vehicle.

Detectives haven’t released the pedestrian’s name yet and won’t until his next of kin are notified.

The investigation continues, and Tucson Police Department detectives are requesting that anyone who has information on this collision call 88-CRIME. Tipsters can stay anonymous.
