Tucson Shooter Dies, 2nd Victim Found Dead In House Fire ID'd
Leslie Scarlett, whom police said killed two people and seriously injured two emergency medical technicians on Sunday, has died.
TUCSON, AZ — A man that police said was responsible for a shooting left two people dead and seriously injured three more in Tucson on Sunday has died, Tucson police said.
Leslie Scarlett was shot by police after he opened fire on an ambulance with two emergency medical technicians inside in the parking lot of Silverlake Park. Scarlett shot at the two EMTs after pointing toward a house fire almost a mile away, police said.
Both EMTs were taken to a nearby hospital, with the driver suffering life-threatening injuries and the passenger suffering serious injuries, police said.

A Tucson Fire Department captain was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the arm by Scarlett, according to police.
The two people that died in the shooting were 44-year-old Cory Saunders, whom police found outside the house that was on fire, and Jennifer A. Fells, 36, who was inside the house, according to police.

Around 4 p.m., some 15 minutes after the first round of shots were fired, Scarlett rammed into a police car with his SUV and shot at an officer. The officer, identified by police as Danny Leon, shot Scarlett, who died from his injuries on Wednesday, police said.
