University Of Arizona, ASU Ordered To Sell Russian Investments
The Arizona Board of Regents ordered all 3 universities that it oversees to sell all of their Russian investments, amid its war in Ukraine.

TUCSON, AZ — The University of Arizona has been ordered to sell all of its Russian investments, as Russia wages a bloody war on Ukraine.
The Arizona Board of Regents, the board that oversees University of Arizona, Arizona State University in Tempe and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, ordered all three public universities on Monday to sell their Russian investments as soon as possible.
The board also decided to nix any Russian investments from its own retirement plan.

The board condemned “in the strongest possible terms Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine and apparent targeting of civilian populations,” Chairperson Lyndel Manson said in a statement. “With today’s action, the board repudiates Putin’s aggression and ensures Arizona’s public university enterprise divests of any Russian assets.”
The Russian invasion began Feb. 24 and since then more than 2.1 million Ukrainian refugees have fled the country, according to the United Nations. Many more are expected to follow. The United Nations also reported Wednesday that 516 Ukrainian civilians had been killed and 908 injured since the fighting began.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
