Warm, Windy Weather, Fire Watch In Store For Tucson This Weekend

Gusts of up to 32 mph will be possible Sunday, and a fire weather watch will be in effect from Sunday through Monday, according to the NWS.

TUCSON, AZ — Windy weather is in store for the Tucson area this weekend, with a fire weather watch starting on Sunday.

A fire weather watch will be in effect for most of Pima County from Sunday morning through Monday night. Contributing to the fire danger will be gusty winds, paired with low relative humidity, meaning that any fires that happen have the potential to rapidly spread.

It's set to be a warm in Tucson this weekend, with a high of 94 on Saturday and winds of 7-17 mph, the National Weather Service predicted. The overnight low on Saturday will be around 58 degrees.

Winds are expected to pick up even more on Sunday, with winds of 10-15 mph in the morning, increasing to 18-23 mph in the afternoon and possible gusts of up to 38 mph, according to the weather service forecast. The high on Sunday is expected to be around 90 with an overnight low of 55 degrees.

Breezy weather is expected to continue Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures cooling significantly on Tuesday with a predicted high of 73 degrees.
