Wind Advisory For Tucson Area, Rain Headed This Way: NWS

Snow is in the forecast for higher elevations around Tucson, and a high wind warning was issued for the Sierra Vista Area.

TUCSON, AZ — A wind advisory is in effect for the Tucson area from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A weather system coming to Arizona from California Tuesday evening is expected to bring rain and strong winds that are the National Weather Service's primary concern. Sustained winds of 20-30 mph are possible with gusts of up to 50 mph, according to the weather service forecast. Gusty winds could move unsecured objects and tree limbs could be blown down, resulting in possible power outages. Blowing dust could suddenly reduce visibility.

A high wind warning is in effect for the Sierra Vista area from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday.
