• Verde Village pond may become a park (journalaz.com) — A key Verde Village gathering spot, the 4.22-acre Duck Pond in Unit 4, may be drained and turned into Yavapai County’s first park for District 3 after supervisors agreed to study taking it over. With ditch water supplies ending in 2028 and structural concerns mounting, county staff will explore costs, environmental impacts, and possible federal grants to replace a future dry pond with a much-needed community park.
