  1. Gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon has unveiled his Operation Copper Shield plan during a trip to Yuma on Friday. Salmon's proposed plan would deploy 1,200 armed National Guard troops to the border, designate $60 million in law enforcement funding for border-related crimes, and designate $140 million for the Arizona National Guard's armed mobilization.   2. A High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) from MCAS Yuma collided with a civilian vehicle on Avenue 5E on Thursday morning. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital for serious injuries sustained during the incident. The HMMWV did not yield during its left turn which caused the incident. (KYMA)
  3. Yuma's Community Medical Services is seeking a bigger addiction treatment center to handle the growing demand. According to Yuma's Mayor Douglas Nicholls, approximately 1,000 migrants cross the border each day, allowing drugs to flow from Mexico to the United States. Law enforcement is calling for more resources to handle the growing addiction issue in Yuma. (News Nation Now)
