2. Recall efforts against San Luis mayor, 2 councilmembers called off (kawc.org) — Residents in South Yuma County’s city of San Luis have ended recall efforts targeting Mayor Nieves Riedel and councilmembers Lizeth Servin and Luis Cabrera, meaning all three will remain in office for now. Organizers say the likely delay until November’s general election and a desire for more peaceful coexistence led them to stand down, even after earlier recall activity in the Gadsden school district.
