• Oklahoma seeks $100 million and end to poultry litter use after Illinois River ruling (4029tv.com) — Cave Springs residents are represented directly in this fight, as State Senator Bart Hester of Cave Springs pushes back on Oklahoma’s push for $100 million in fines and a ban on using poultry litter as fertilizer. He argues that Northwest Arkansas farmers have already reduced their environmental impact and warns that Oklahoma’s proposed penalties could seriously hurt local poultry growers and the regional farm economy.
