1. ‘A gift for the community': Garland County Historical Society's 2025 edition of The Record now available (hotsr.com) — Hot Springs history buffs can now pick up the Garland County Historical Society’s 2025 edition of The Record, featuring rare photos and stories centered on the city’s past. This year’s journal highlights Central Avenue in the 1910s, Hot Springs gangster Owney Madden, and other local figures and landmarks. Copies are available weekday mornings at the Quapaw Avenue archives or by mail.

2. Arkansas Tourism Tax Revenue Slips After Record 2024 (arkansasbusiness.com) — Hot Springs’ tourism tax collections are up about 1.4% this year, but local officials say more than 1,000 untaxed short‑term rentals in Garland County are cutting into hotel stays and city lodging revenue. Statewide tourism taxes have softened since last year’s eclipse boom, yet Hot Springs remains Arkansas’ top destination, with receipts second only to Little Rock.

3. CHI St. Vincent Rehabilitation Hospital opens mobility courtyard to aid in recovery Hot Springs Sentinel Record (hotsr.com) — Patients at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs Rehabilitation Hospital now have a 10,000-square-foot outdoor mobility courtyard to safely practice real-world walking on ramps, steps, curbs, and varied surfaces. Opened after years of planning, the space will support rehab exercises, gardening and picnic activities, and also give staff a peaceful place to recharge outdoors.

4. Elks recognize outstanding law enforcement officers (hotsr.com) — Hot Springs residents should know that Elks Lodge 380 has honored local law enforcement officers from the Hot Springs Police Department, Garland County Sheriff’s Office, Hot Springs Village Police and Arkansas State Police Troop K. City Manager Bill Burrough, HSPD Chief Billy Hrvatin and other leaders joined officers’ families to recognize their service, leadership and community involvement.
