LITTLE ROCK, AR — Philander Smith College and Arkansas Baptist College, two of Arkansas' historically Black colleges, received bomb threats Tuesday, according to Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr.

An anonymous person made the threats to the Little Rock schools in a 911 call, Scott said in a tweet.

The bomb threats are part of a widespread trend across several states of similar threats being made to historically Black colleges and universities, including schools in Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida and Georgia.
