Silver alert issued on Christmas Day for missing 76-year-old woman in Little Rock (katv.com) — Little Rock police have issued a Silver Alert for 76-year-old Sandria Nehus, last seen late Christmas night on Cameo Drive and believed to be driving a blue 2017 Honda CRV. She has Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact LRPD immediately as the search continues in and around the city.

UALR student from Pine Bluff launches app that's all about insects (pbcommercial.com) — A UA Little Rock computer science student is putting the city’s tech scene on the map with Insects AR, a new augmented-reality insect education app now on Google Play. Built through the university’s Emerging Analytics Center, the project gave several students hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools, and its creator plans to stay in Little Rock’s tech industry before pursuing graduate studies.
   

3. Arkansas recovery advocates warn of alcohol risks ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations (kark.com) — Little Rock’s Serenity Park Recovery Center is urging residents to think carefully about drinking as New Year’s Eve approaches, warning that celebrations can easily trigger setbacks. Staff share personal recovery experiences, highlight the benefits of a “Dry January,” and suggest strategies like mocktails so people can stay social while protecting their health and sobriety.
   

4. Little Rock Zoo welcomes sloth bear cubs (thv11.com) — Little Rock Zoo staff are celebrating the surprise arrival of two healthy sloth bear cubs born to Kayla, a key part of a national conservation effort. The cubs, fathered by Bhalu, mark another success in the zoo’s partnership with the Philadelphia Zoo and the Sloth Bear Species Survival Plan, with a public gender reveal planned once keepers can safely determine it.
