Local officers, MHPD’s K9 Ace, and Baxter County courts all play key roles as suspects face serious trafficking and weapons charges. 
• MH takes 5th in 6A; AR Sports Media releases final football poll for 25′ (ktlo.com) — Mountain Home’s high school football team finished the 2025 season ranked fifth in Arkansas Class 6A and also received votes in the statewide overall Top 10 poll. The final Arkansas Sports Media rankings highlight how MH stacks up against powerhouse programs like Bryant, Bentonville, and Greenwood across all classifications.
• Gene Howard Swarthout (komc.com) — Mountain Home residents are mourning the passing of 90-year-old Gene Howard Swarthout, who died December 12 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home. A longtime member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Gene was an avid fisherman and Army veteran whose family and friends remember his humor, kindness, and love of the White River and Norfork Lake.
