Pine Bluff resident confronts car thief, ends in gunfire (katv.com) โ€” Pine Bluff police say a resident confronted a suspected car thief outside her home Sunday night, and the encounter ended with the man being shot and wounded. Officers later found the 23-year-old suspect nearby and took him to Jefferson Regional for treatment. The stolen gun is still missing, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact PBPD or leave an anonymous tip.

Arkansas unemployment rises slightly, Jefferson County among hardest hit (kark.com) โ€” Jefferson County, including Pine Bluff, is facing one of Arkansasโ€™ highest unemployment rates, now 6.3% compared with lower rates in nearby counties. Pine Bluff Man Charged With Threatening Store Clerk During Dispute (deltaplexnews.com) โ€” A Pine Bluff man has been given a $2,500 bond after police say he threatened a store clerk during a dispute at the Shoe Show on South Olive Street. A Jefferson County judge found probable cause for a terroristic threatening charge and ordered him to avoid contact with the clerk. The case is set to return to court in late January.

Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule (lindenwoodlions.com) โ€” College baseball fans in Pine Bluff can look ahead to Lindenwood opening its 2026 season with a four-game road series at Arkansas-Pine Bluff starting February 13.
