• Fifth annual Umarex Big Squirrel Challenge set for January 2026 (thv11.com) — Russellville hunters can take part in the statewide Umarex Big Squirrel Challenge by weighing in their biggest squirrels at the Russellville Regional Office on Lock and Dam Road. The free Arkansas Game and Fish Commission event runs January 9–10, 2026, with divisions for adults, youth, and different squirrel types, making it a family-friendly winter hunting competition.
