• Wynne joins call for state to maintain federal surplus property program (thewynneprogress.com) — Wynne city leaders have formally joined other Arkansas towns in urging the state to keep the Arkansas Federal Surplus Property Program open, saying its closure would hit small cities like Wynne hardest. At the same meeting, the council approved financing a new $400,000 garbage truck, shifted hundreds of thousands in city CDs to higher-interest accounts, and heard detailed monthly reports from parks, public works, fire, and police departments.

• Construction continues at Wynne wastewater treatment plant (thewynneprogress.com) — Work is steadily moving forward on rebuilding Wynne’s tornado-damaged wastewater treatment plant, with the administration building being dried in over the next few weeks and steel for the maintenance shop on the way. Demolition for the main plant continues, with major construction expected to start around February and full completion targeted for August 2027.

• Wynne's DeAngelo Williams among 2026 Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame inductees (thewynneprogress.com) — A hometown football star is bringing big recognition back to Wynne, as DeAngelo Williams has been named to the 2026 Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame class. The former Yellowjacket record-setter, Memphis standout, and longtime NFL running back will be inducted alongside ten other honorees on April 10, 2026.
