CALIFORNIA — Bringing flooding and storms to the Bay Area, an atmospheric river hit California hard over the weekend, finally delivering much-needed rain to the state. At the base of Mount Tamalpais, the weather service reported a whopping 11 inches of rainfall— and in Downtown San Fransisco, residents saw 4 inches fall nearby.

“It looks like yesterday was the 4th wettest day ever for downtown SF where records go back to the Gold Rush years,” the weather service said.
