21 Images Show CA Wildfires Wreaking Havoc On State
Several days of triple-digit heat have led to multiple wildfires in the Southern California area, creating thunderstorm-like weather systems

ACROSS CALIFORNIA-- Even though Autumn is on the horizon, the weather in California is far from it. Several days of triple-digit heat have fanned the flames of multiple wildfires and caused thunderstorm-like weather systems. Cooler weather is expected to slowly creep in later this week, hopefully giving firefighters the chance to contain much of the flames.
The Line fire in the San Bernadino area has forced over 6,000 residents to evacuate and threatened countless homes and businesses. The steep terrain and heavy vegetation of the forest in the area has added fuel to the fires and limited the firefighter's ability to tame the blaze.
Meanwhile, firefighters used bulldozers, helicopters and planes to control another rapidly spreading blaze near a remote-controlled airplane airport in Orange County. The fire spread to about 3 square miles in only a few hours on Monday— and by Tuesday afternoon, it had grown to some 9,500 acres.
