U.S. Navy Helicopter Crashes In Southern CA; All Crew Members Survive
A second military aircraft crashed in southern California's Imperial County in as many days. Officials say all four crew members survived.

PALOS VERDE, CA — All four crew members survived a Navy plane crash Thursday evening in southern California, just a day after five Marines were killed in a military aircraft crash just 40 miles away.
A U.S. Navy helicopter crashed on a training range near El Centro, Commander Zach Harrell of the Naval Air Forces said in a statement. Initial reports indicated that all four air crew members on board survived the crash.
One of the crew members was taken to a hospital with an injury and was expected to survive.

Federal Fire and other local first responders were sent to the crash site, Naval Air Facility El Centro wrote in a Facebook post around 5 p.m.
First responders were reportedly headed to an area near Palo Verde, near the Arizona and California border.

The helicopter was assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 3, based at Naval Air Station North Island.
Thursday's crash is about 40 miles north of the Wednesday's deadly crash site. In that crash, officials said five Marines were aboard an MV-22B Osprey that crashed near Glamis. All five were killed.
